Orange City Council has welcomed the NSW Government announcement of a $2.1 million funding contribution towards the upgrade of Forest Rd outside the new Orange hospital.
The project will see the upgrade of 1400 metres of Forest Rd from the Southern Feeder Rd intersection, alongside Sir Jack Brabham Park to the entrance of the new hospital. Grant for Forest Rd upgrade - 10th January 2017

Orange City Council has signed an agreement with Health Infrastructure for the purchase of the old Orange Base Hospital. 

Orange Mayor John Davis said the deal was about taking a controlling interest in a development opportunity.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. It is an entire city block close to the CBD. There are great opportunities to retrofit parts of the old hospital and to create new types of residential living not generally offered in regional cities,” Cr Davis said.
