Orange City Council has signed an agreement with Health Infrastructure for the purchase of the old Orange Base Hospital. Orange Mayor John Davis said the deal was about taking a controlling interest in a development opportunity. “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. It is an entire city block close to the CBD. There are great opportunities to retrofit parts of the old hospital and to create new types of residential living not generally offered in regional cities,” Cr Davis said.
